Luego de dos años de trabajos y de invertir alrededor de $23 mil millones, los villamarianos ya vieron su sueño hecho realidad: la intersección vial del municipio y el nuevo puente de la Prosperidad, donde antes estaba el Jorge Leyva.
La inauguración estuvo en manos del vicepresidente de la República, Germán Vargas Lleras, quien calificó la obra como una maravilla para la entrada y salida del municipio.
El alcalde del municipio, Jairo Antonio Valencia, destacó que este era un sueño de su administración, por lo que agradeció al vicepresidente por la gestión.

El vicepresidente también firmó las actas de inicio de las obras para la intersección vial de San Marcel, un retorno en el antiguo vivero, las dobles calzadas entre Puente de La Libertad-Maltería y Estación Uribe-La Fuente, que tendrán una inversión cercana a los $210 mil millones.
Jorge Alejandro González, representante legal de CSS Constructores, encargado de la obra, señaló que se verán movimientos el próximo 15 de enero del 2016.
El vicepresidente agregó que en enero próximo se iniciará la construcción de dos mil viviendas en Caldas, a través de tres proyectos que se realizan entre Villamaría, Chinchiná y Manizales. "Es una oportunidad para los ahorradores que podrán acceder a su hogar con una cuota de $180 mil mensuales".

Sobre las críticas a las sanciones de tránsito a través de multas fotográficas, el vicepresidente señaló que el Gobierno Nacional piensa en la reglamentación de la medida. Aseguró que lo que buscan es la legalidad de estas. "Vale la pena regularlo", indicó.
